Stuck in the middle.
So, Mitt may have done it. People are going to start talking about math a lot. The math doesn't work for either Santorum or Gingrich to win the nomination. This is true. Luckily, Rick Santorum doesn't believe in math or science and Newt is only running to sell books, so the campaign must go on!!!
This will lead to the inevitable discussion of whether some third party should run. Someone "in the middle" that could stop all this partisan bickering. Someone like Michael Bloomberg or.... Well, someone.
What would said person believe? Would he/she be pro-choice like the majority of Americans or would they think women should be forced to have a vaginal probe stuck in them if they choose to have an abortion and be denied contraception coverage by their PRIVATE health care insurer? Would this person be pro starting a new war with Iran after a decade of war? Would said middle of the road believe that cutting taxes will somehow balance the budget or would they believe a mixture of tax increases and spending cuts is a more prudent path? Would a middle of the road person believe regulation of Wall Street is a good idea after the excess we saw for the last decade?
I could go on and on, but here's the simple fact: Barack Obama is middle of the road. I wish he was more liberal. I wish he really would have passed a socialized health care plan. I wish he really was doing something about global warming. I wish he had ended the Bush tax rates when he had the chance. He didn't. Why? Because by his nature he looks to compromise. I wish he didn't. He does.
Look at the two biggest "socialist" ideas he is attacked for: "Obamacare" and Cap and Trade. Both of these ideas have their genesis not in some commie rag, but in Republican think tanks. The Dream Act used to be considered the least we could do since we couldn't get Comprehensive Immigration Reform passed even though it was supported by noted left wingers John McCain, George Bush and Karl freakin Rove.
My point is this, when you ask Americans where they stand on issues they have a stance that is very similar to the President they already have. Republicans call him a socialist and a snob and then some people make up a fictional character in their head that can bring us together so we can all agree to move forward. Move forward to do what? Well, you know raise taxes on the rich, cut spending, end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, regulate Wall Street, do something about global warming...

If you can't beat these guys...
The other day I ran across this piece written by Willard Mitt Romney back in 2009. It was interesting. I mean, there is the presumptive Republican nominee for President making the case for what became (cue the scary music) Obamacare!! Then today I see a little clip MSNBC has of Romney saying the same things on Meet the Press and other programs back in '09. It's almost as though someone finally researched these things.
I point this out because today is Super Tuesday. Mitt Romney has a pretty good shot of locking up the nomination tonight, and do you know why? Because he has run against a bunch of incompetent boobs, that's why!!! As you watch the results come in tonight think about a couple of things. First, neither Newt or Santorum are even on the damn ballot in Virginia. What kind of campaign fails to even get on the ballot? A terrible one. So, the two campaigns that are the biggest rivals to Romney for the nomination couldn't get on the ballot in one of the biggest Super Tuesday states. That's pretty bad. What's worse is Santorum's campaign didn't submit a full slate of delegates in 9 of the 16 congressional districts in Ohio. What does that mean? It means that even if Santorum wins Ohio he almost surely won't win the most delegates in Ohio. Why? Because his campaign is incompetent.
This brings me back to that editorial and the video. Why am I seeing this now? I have no proof, but I assume it is because the Obama campaign is leaking it to reporters. Why? BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT A COMPETENT CAMPAIGN WOULD DO!!! They want this to last a little while longer. Give Republicans even more to think about it. Here's the question, why the hell is this stuff not all over the air? What sells better against Romney in a Republican primary than he was for Obamacare? Nothing. That's why he lies about it. And none of these guys can catch him in a lie because they can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
It's pathetic. It's almost enough to make me miss Lee Atwater... Almost. If I was Romney I wouldn't get used to it though. I promise you the Obama campaign has tons of this stuff. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Hell, we may even bring out the old '04 flip flops for the convention. I wounder if the RNC would give us a deal?

On sluts and dittoheads.
I got stuck in traffic today, so I did what any redblooded American would do... I tuned in to Rush!!!! As many of you know, I listen to Rush from time to time. Not as often as when I worked in Cordova, but still if I'm driving around and he is on I might listen for a few minutes. It keeps me on my toes.
Well, Rushbo found himself in a little hot water last week for calling Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke a slut and a prostitute because she thinks that insurance companies should be required to cover contraception as part of their prescription drug coverage. You know, like they do for every other drug prescribed by a doctor. Rush went on and on about this for three days last week, then apologized this weekend, then continued to attack her today using different words.
What gets lost in Rush's use of words like slut and proposing a woman post tapes of herself having sex on the internet in order to have contraception covered by her insurance policy is that Rush is either lying to his audience or he is a big fat idiot about how both contraception and prescription drug coverage works.
The first lie that is being told by Rush is that he says this woman says she is having so much sex she cannot afford all the contraception. What the hell? Does he understand how the pill works? You don't take it like Viagra, Rushbo (which is coincidentally covered by Catholic insurance plans). You don't take one every time you have sex. Depending on which pill you take, you mainly take it daily no matter if you are having sex or not. You take it even if you've never had sex. You take it to avoid cyst on your ovaries. You take it for all kinds of reasons, but you take it on a schedule completely independent of your sex life. Either Rush doesn't know that or he is not telling the truth and trying to get his audience to be even more ignorant.
The second thing Rush says in his statement is she wants the government to pay for her contraception. No. She wants her private insurance to pay for it. This whole controversy is about PRIVATE insurance companies having to cover contraception. The government already does cover it for people on government plans, as they should. This is so women who have insurance can get their most basic health care needs met by their insurance providers without their boss being able to say they don't want it covered because... well just because. It is saying women should be able to make the decision of whether they want to use contraception based on what is best for them instead of what their boss, insurance company or (if Rush and Rick Santorum have their way) the government have to say.
So, don't be fooled by Rush using words like slut or prostitute or proposing someone putting up more internet porn. This fight is about women being able to have their prescription contraception covered under their PRIVATE insurance plan. That's it. Republicans don't think they should. Don't forget that come election day.

Behave yourself!!!
First, sorry for missing the past couple of days. Work got a little out of control. I'll catch you up, Romney won Michigan and Arizona and it looks like everything's coming up Willard.
In other news, Andrew Breitbart died. Now, I know you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but I just can't help it. I know that some kids lost their dad. I know a wife lost their husband. This may be true, but the world lost a notorious ratfucker.
For those of you not familiar with the term "ratfucking", it was "technique" used by the Nixonites to screw their political enemies. Andrew Breitbart's deceptively edited videos were a prime example of the technique being used today.
Having said that, the last time we saw Mr. Breitbart attempting to ratfuck a group of people, it just so happened that people were recording him doing his thing. Here you go.
Looks like a great guy, no?
In closing, I think the best thing to do is give the final word to the group that Andrew Breitbart got famous for ratfucking along with James O'Keefe.
Have a great weekend, guys. Behave yourself!!!
